I’ve heard concerns about eco-friendly motor oil. Is it really safe to put in my car?

ECO ULTRA® blended synthetic motor oil meets the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) SN and ILSAC GF-5 specifications. ECO ULTRA is manufactured from re-refined base stocks. Our state-of-the-art refining process generates a high-quality, Group II base stock that provides excellent oxidation resistance, lower volatility, and good low-temperature properties. This base stock is then blended with additives to manufacture top-tier engine oils, hydraulic oils, and transmission and tractor fluids.

Manufacturing methods have come a long way in recent years. The ability to clean base oil through the re-refining process is vastly improved. In 2009, Universal Lubricants, LLC, which produces ECO ULTRA products, completed a 45.4-million-liter refinery in Wichita, Kansas specifically to utilize the latest technology and green practices to convert used oil into high-quality motor oil.

Major automobile manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, and Mercedes readily accept the use of API-approved lubricating oils made with re-refined base stock:

Keep asking. Keep learning.

Here’s a recent interview with Universal’s CEO John Wesley, about our company and processes, and the industry’s move to eco-friendly oil.
